Happy Holidays!

Where in the heck did 2010 go?! Can you believe there are only 11 days left of 2010? This year zipped by at a high rate of speed, but it's all been good.

Zaffiro Images will be on vacation through January 1 and wishes each and every one of you a Wonderful Christmas and a prosperous New Year!

We look forward to seeing you all again in 2011.

Family Portrait Session

I met a family for a different kind of family session - at the Graffiti wall here in Houston. GREAT place to go if you're looking for something a little different, which this family was.

Racheal is my hairdresser (and the BEST, by the way! If you're looking for someone new, just shoot me an email and I'll give you her info.) I met her and her family, Josh, Gavin and Ryder at the wall. It was cold and windy so we tried to get through as quickly as possible. Poor Gavin was so cold and a super

Texans vs. the . . . . .

Jayden has his own name for some of the football teams. Many are just the colors. For example "The Black and Gold got the Blue team down!" (translation: The Saints got the Cowboys down!) There's one name he has for the Carolina Panthers that can't be beat: Carolina Pampers.

But, tonight, he has another name for another team.

The Texans are playing the Ravens tonight. He came in my room and I asked how the Texans are doing . . .

Nana: How are the Texans doing?

Jayden: They are loosing.

Nana: Oh, that's not good! They really need to win this game!

Jayden: I know. They haven't gotten any toughdowns!

Nana: Oh, that's too bad. Do you know what the score is?

Jayden: No. I just know that the Raisins are getting the Texans down.

Sneak Peek

Well, this sneak peek wraps up my year for newborns. Unless I get a call from one of my expectant mothers it should be quite.

This sweet little girl is the daughter of my maternity shoot I had last month (you can see her HERE). She was such an adorable baby. Quiet, content and our session went quite fast.

Enjoy.

Brrrrrr! It's Cold!

I know some of my East Coast friends are freezing their buns this week. But Houston! We reached a sizzling 47 today! And to think it's supposed to be 79 on Saturday, then plunge back down to 55 and breezy on Sunday.

This kind of rollercoaster ride is quite strange!

Apologies Now . . .

before I send them out. For what, you ask? For a duplicate Christmas card you may have received from us in the past.

I buy new Christmas Cards every single year, just like you do. And over the years I have managed to have TONS of extra cards. So, THIS year, instead of buying new cards, I’m going to use up all my Christmas cards from past years. Yes, they still mean as much to me today as when I bought them ????. That’s why I hang onto them.

Let’s hope YOU aren’t one to get the same one I sent last year . . . **snicker**

I will try my best to avoid that one.

I promise . . .

Newborn Sneak Peek

Here's a sneak peek of Peyton. We originally had her scheduled for November 7th, but this sweet little girl wasn't ready for her appointment. So we moved her schedule to November 14. Still, she just wasn't ready to join us. Finally I received an email from her Mommy, Jayme, on November 20th that she was finally here. A long wait, and I'm sure Jayme was relieved to see her precious little girl.

Meet Peyton. Adorable!

Jaydenism

Kylene, my daughter, and I were watching TV and there was a Salvation Army guy ringing a bell on the news. Jayden, my grandson, gets all excited and says:

Jayden: Oh, I saw something! Nana, can you back it up?

Kylene: No, Jayden, we're not backing anything up.

Nana: LOL - Jayden, I don't know what you're going to do when you move out with Mommy. You won't be able to back anything up on TV.

Kylene: That's right, we live on a budget!

Jayden: I live on Earth!

Screaming Cat!

Ok, here's the setup.

I'm at my computer, editing a session from earlier in the week. My cat, Nell, continually comes in and out of my studio. She heads over to the window, stands up and looks out, turns and walks away. She keeps doing this for another 5 minutes. Her tail is whipping and she is making a coughing sound. I've never heard this before from her. Her tail is the size of a raccoons' tail. Big and bushy. Strange, I thought (but I'm sure to all you cat pros you know exactly what's going on).

A minute later, Chloe, my daughter's dog, came into the studio. She heads over to the window and stands up and looks out the window. Cute, I thought. So I grab my camera and get it ready just in case they both stand up and look out the

Sneak Peek

I had a session with one of Jayden's soccer teammates, Zach, and his family a couple of weeks ago. His aunt and uncle were in town for Thanksgiving so they took the opportunity to have their portraits taken as well.

We had a wonderful time and the kids, Zach and Zoey, were adorable to boot!

San Francisco

I ran across this site a few days ago while looking for something in San Francisco.

If you'd like to see some beautiful arieal images of San Francisco, or anywhere else this guy's been - GO HERE

I sure miss San Francisco! Enjoy!

Welcome December!

The last month of the year. Wow!

I don’t know about you, but for me this year flew by. Heck, every year flies by in your adult life. Why is that? When we were kids, time couldn’t fly fast enough. Especially when you’re sitting in the most boring class during school. Or Christmas couldn’t come fast enough when you’re counting down the days in December. Or when you get in trouble and your Mother would say “you just wait until your Father gets home!” THAT was the longest time to wait. LOL - Yes, there were days I was a little devil in my younger years!

Maybe time flies because we try to cram in as much as we can during the day.

Holidays are here, sessions are slowing down, and I can get caught up with my blog again.

Ray and I took our annual trip to New York last month. It was a short trip, 4 days, and we crammed in a bunch of stuff like we always do. It felt like we were there for a week.

Here’s an aerial view of New York City as we were coming in. Beautiful day!

Other than our trip to New York, and a wonderful Thanksgiving with our family, it’s been busy with Holiday Sessions and spending time with my adorable grandson.

Here’s a peek at Kylene and Jayden’s Holiday Session. They both crack me up so much!

I’ll put up a few of the last couple of sessions I’ve done a little later.

In the meantime, enjoy the first day of December!
