3 Week Old

For you mommies out there - do you remember your little one at 3 weeks old?

How small they were?

How delicate they were?

How fragile they were?

I do.

I remember sitting up at night holding them for hours while everyone slept just looking at them. Their tiny toes, fingers, ears, hands and nose.

And I miss those times.

My youngest wears a size 11 shoe - he ain't little no mo! I highly doubt he'd let me go to his room at 2 in the morning and hold him on my lap and just look at him.

I can only imagine his response! Which I can't share here.

I had the privilege of shooting a 3 week old over the weekend. Such a little sweetheart! This is the sweet little boy of the couple I shot a back in January.

Here's a sneek peak for ya. With his little snuggy doggy . . .

How to pot/repot an Orchid

I sent my mom an Orchid for her birthday in January. She loves it. Like most people who acquire an orchid for the first time, she has concerns on watering, planting and feeding. Worries all new orchid owners go through. So, since her orchid will need to be repotted soon, I wanted to put this on my blog so she can follow along.

As many of you know, I love Orchids. I have 11 of them. No, I now have 14. I just bought 3 more today. Many people think orchids are hard to grow. They’re not. Orchids just have a different set of cultural needs. Like any other type of plants, orchids need water, fertilizer, light and air. Orchids adapt well to the environment of the average home. Like nighttime temperatures of 60 to 65°F and daytime temperatures 75 to 85°F. Easy.

Phalaenopsis are among the easiest and most

Lukas Hans Vom Abdeckerhaus

He sure has grown since I first posted his picture on the blog.

He's huge, lovable, amazing personality, extremely funny and 100 pounds of stubborn. He'll be a year old on the 31st and he still acts like he's 4 months old.

We have one more year of this goofiness, then maybe he'll chill out.

Anyway, this is our baby, Lukas Hans Vom Abdeckerhaus.

Another Jaydenism

Jayden has been learning "Good Choices" and "Bad Choices" at daycare. Some days he comes home with a note that Jayden made bad choices at school, by hitting someone, or pushing someone. When Jayden comes home with a note of good choices, he makes sure every single living thing in the house is informed of his day full of good choices. The daycare sent home a happy face on a stick for us to hold up when he makes good choices, and a sad face on a stick when he makes bad choices.

So now, when he does things wrong, we tell him he's making bad choices or hold up the sad face. Same with good choices.

Here's a conversation between Kylene and Jayden this morning.

Jayden holding up his happy face to Kylene

Kylene: Jayden! Put that happy face down!

Jayden: But I was making good choices!

Kylene: When?

Jayden: Tuesday, at 4:00!

Toby Keith

March 14!

Is it really March 14?

Where did the time go? The last time I posted was February 11. That’s way too long! I guess life gets in the way sometimes . . .

I have been busy. I’ll try not to wait so long between posts.

The latest I’d like to share with you is Toby Keith.

Toby was playing at the Houston Rodeo Friday. Ray loves Toby Keith and when I found some tickets, center stage, row 2 for $25.00, I jumped on it! The stage is situated in the center of the field at Reliant Stadium.

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is the world's largest livestock exhibition. We went last year, enjoyed everything about the Rodeo: bull riding, livestock judging, concerts, a carnival, pig racing, barbecue, international Wine Competition, shopping, livestock auctions. Just about everything you can imagine.

This year, we
